Strategy & Transformation Advisor

Responsibilities

Shape enterprise commerce transformation strategy

• Lead executive discovery, strategy, and architecture workshops for strategic enterprise prospects and users.
• Assess commerce and technology landscapes across commerce platforms, order management, ERP and finance, CRM, loyalty, identity, data, fulfillment, risk, and engineering systems.
• Develop future-state architecture points of view positioning Stripe as a financial backbone.
• Translate business objectives into architecture and operating-model implications.
• Define system boundaries, ownership models, integration patterns, data flows, design principles, dependencies, and migration considerations.
• Create phased, dependency-aware transformation roadmaps tied to measurable business outcomes.

Support strategic enterprise pursuits

• Partner with GTM, account teams, enterprise service managers, sales leaders, and Solutions Architecture on complex pursuits.
• Advise executive technical and business stakeholders on architecture trade-offs and future-state planning.
• Create executive narratives, architecture artifacts, transformation roadmaps, and decision materials.
• Support account strategy, opportunity shaping, and value articulation.
• Help define the path from architecture vision to implementation scope while leaving detailed design and delivery ownership to the appropriate teams.

Advise technical teams

• Serve as a senior thought partner to Integration Engineers, Solutions Architects, Account Executives, and Strategy and Transformation Consultants.
• Advise on system-of-record boundaries, API and event design, data ownership, reconciliation, operational resilience, migration strategy, and organizational readiness.
• Coach teams on executive technical storytelling, architecture discovery, and connecting technical decisions to business value.
• Build reusable architecture frameworks, reference patterns, workshop methods, and transformation narratives.

Inform strategy and product direction

• Bring customer architecture patterns, friction points, and unmet needs to Product, Engineering, and GTM leadership.
• Identify trends including AI-enabled commerce and financial operations, omnichannel experiences, embedded finance, platform business models, and global expansion.
• Contribute to enterprise commerce thought leadership and customer-facing content.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, technology strategy, digital transformation, management consulting, or senior technical advisory roles.
• Significant experience advising large enterprises on complex technology transformation, ideally involving commerce, payments, financial systems, or customer-facing platforms.
• Experience engaging credibly with C-suite and vice president-level business and technical leaders.
• Deep understanding of enterprise commerce architecture, including commerce platforms, order management, ERP and finance, CRM, loyalty, identity, fulfillment, and cloud data platforms.
• Strong knowledge of API-first integration, distributed systems, event-driven architecture, cloud platforms, data flows, and enterprise operating models.
• Working knowledge of payments and financial infrastructure, including acceptance, acquiring, settlement, reconciliation, fraud and risk, compliance, and multi-party payment models.
• Ability to connect architecture decisions to revenue growth, conversion, authorization performance, operational efficiency, resilience, cost, and speed to market.
• Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills, including the ability to make complex architecture decisions clear to executive audiences.
