Staff Solutions Architect, Majors

Serve as a strategic technical advisor to enterprise prospects and customers, guiding evaluations, architecture, implementation, and adoption of Temporal. The role requires distributed-systems expertise, application prototyping skills, cloud experience, strong technical communication, and close partnership with sales.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary customer-facing technical leader for enterprise customers in the Central region.
  • Guide prospects and customers through technical evaluation, architecture, implementation, and adoption of Temporal.
  • Support new-business and expansion opportunities in partnership with Account Executives and Platform Architects.
  • Own key technical relationships and position Temporal against alternative technologies and architectural patterns.
  • Present, whiteboard, and write clearly for technical and business audiences.
  • Build application prototypes and provide design, development, build, and deployment guidance.
  • Advise on production concerns including security, reliability, performance, cost management, and operations.
  • Guide customers through complex application-pattern and platform-architecture decisions.
  • Develop account plans, scope opportunities, identify technical risks, and navigate complex evaluations.
  • Travel 25–50%.

Requirements

  • Reside within the Central time zone in the United States.
  • Deep understanding of distributed systems, design principles, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in one or more of Java, Go, TypeScript, Python, C#, or PHP.
  • Experience with at least one major cloud provider and commonly used enterprise application and infrastructure services.
  • Experience serving as a strategic technical advisor to sales account executives.
  • Exceptional technical communication skills, including presenting, whiteboarding, and technical writing.
