Principal Product Manager

Own end-to-end product surfaces for an AI-native wealth management app. Partner with engineering and design to ship AI-driven features with full metric ownership in a fast-paced Series B fintech startup.

About the job

What you'll own

  • End-to-end product surface for a major area of the Origin Financial app (AI assistant, planning, investing, or onboarding)
  • The full PM craft: write PRDs, run discovery, push Figma files with design partners, define test plans, draft QA cases, sit in on engineering standups, and own the metrics
  • AI-native execution: use AI heavily for research, competitive teardowns, prototypes, PRD drafts, deck building, test-plan generation, and exec readouts
  • Interface between engineering, design, marketing, and leadership
  • Metric ownership for activation, retention, ARPU, and NPS targets

How you work

  • Low ego, thoughtful listener who deeply understands problems before acting
  • Hands-on daily execution with no throwing work over the wall
  • Move fast and ship the smallest thing that proves the bet
  • Strong design taste to evaluate flows and articulate why one is better
  • Strong writing skills for specs, decision memos, and post-mortems

Requirements

  • 8+ years in product management with shipping experience in both larger companies (mature surfaces, scale, cross-functional rigor) and small/early-stage companies (0→1 ownership, P&L)
  • Strong written communicator with short, testable, unambiguous PRDs and exec updates
  • Either 3+ years in consumer financial services (fintech, wealth, neobank, brokerage, lending, or insurance) with understanding of RIA/BD/custody/regulatory constraints, OR 3+ years in highly competitive direct-to-consumer SaaS (consumer product, growth, distribution, rapid iteration)
  • AI-product experience (nice to have): shipped LLM-backed, agentic, or assistive AI features in consumer or financial products with measurable metrics
  • Quantitative fluency (nice to have): ability to pull own data, read retention curves and funnels, partner on complex modeling

What this role is not

  • A hand-off executive seat where you delegate the craft
  • A role where AI-leveraged PM work is beneath you

Compensation & Benefits

  • Principal PM band calibrated for Tier-1 metropolitan areas
  • Meaningful equity grant package
  • Travel covered for in-office weeks
  • Healthcare, wellness stipend, mental wellness program
  • Unlimited access to financial planning
  • Life insurance, 401k retirement
  • Unlimited PTO, paid parental leave, parenthood and fertility assistance
  • Monthly co-working membership reimbursement
  • One-time home office stipend
  • Pick your setup (Apple or Windows) and accessories
