Principal Product Manager, Payer & Outcomes Data
Own the foundational data products that segment patients, measure cost of care, and translate outcomes into auditable payer-facing products. The role requires deep technical fluency, complex data infrastructure product ownership, and cross-functional leadership across engineering, clinical, and commercial teams.
About the job
Responsibilities
- Own patient segmentation and stratification infrastructure that classifies patients by clinical profile, behavioral signals, and drivers of clinical outcomes.
- Build the cost-of-care measurement layer, integrating internal and external cost data and providing auditable patient- and segment-level cost bases and market comparisons.
- Develop payer-facing reporting and data interfaces that translate internal infrastructure into payer-legible population summaries.
- Define the outcomes team's data strategy, including build-versus-buy decisions, prioritization, architectural vision, and cross-functional execution.
- Partner with data engineering, data science, clinical strategy, and commercial stakeholders.
Requirements
- Experience owning complex data infrastructure products end-to-end, beyond analytics or reporting.
- Strong technical proficiency, including complex SQL and engagement with statistical methods.
- Ability to work as a near-peer to data scientists and make cost or outcome claims withstand payer, regulatory, or audit scrutiny.
- Experience setting product strategy in ambiguous domains and making build, buy, or defer decisions.
- Proven ability to align engineering, clinical, and commercial stakeholders without direct reporting authority.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with claims data, episode cost modeling, or risk stratification.
- Background transitioning from data science or analytics engineering into product management.
