Software Engineering Lead

Responsibilities

• Lead the Investigations team building tools for crypto investigations and financial crime prevention.
• Write and review code to unblock the team, demonstrate best practices, pair with team members, and address challenging technical issues.
• Guide technical decisions by balancing trade-offs, technical quality, and business objectives.
• Partner with Product and other stakeholders to define meaningful missions and deliver valuable features.
• Coach team members, foster ownership and problem-solving skills, and build a self-sufficient team.
• Provide system context to new team members and support their integration.
• Share updates and best practices in regular Lead meetings.
• Explain complex technical concepts to engineers, managers, and business stakeholders.
• Establish effective practices for using AI coding tools and ensure AI-assisted code is critically evaluated and understood before release.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience leading and mentoring a team of 3–5 software engineers.
• Strong TypeScript experience across backend development with Node.js/NestJS and frontend development with React/Redux.
• Experience architecting scalable user interfaces and APIs and making informed technology and architecture decisions.
• Experience leading technical initiatives, fostering collaboration, driving delivery, and maintaining high engineering standards.
• Understanding of data visualization and experience rendering complex network graphs and transaction flows.
• Experience with databases and SQL queries, and comfort partnering with data and application engineers.
• Ability to work across backend, frontend, and data systems.
• Experience using AI coding assistants such as Copilot, Cursor, or Claude and evaluating their output critically.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of AWS Serverless, API Gateway, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
• Experience with DataDog and observability practices.
• Interest or experience in cryptocurrency and blockchain technology.
