Strategic Product Manager
Own high-priority zero-to-one product initiatives at a fast-growing AI healthcare startup. Drive ambiguous problems from definition through prototyping, launch, and measurable outcomes with significant autonomy.
About the job
Responsibilities
- Own high-priority zero-to-one initiatives that do not yet have an established product team or obvious solution
- Work across new customer categories, internal workflows, and emerging business lines to understand problems and determine what Forus should build
- Take initiatives from initial problem definition through prototyping, implementation, launch, measurement, and transition into a durable operating model
- Build early prototypes directly where useful, using data analysis, AI development tools, lightweight software, and operational experimentation to learn quickly
- Lead cross-functional execution across engineering, design, operations, commercial, clinical, and other teams without relying on formal authority
- Create the metrics, feedback loops, and operating mechanisms needed to determine whether an initiative is working and how it should evolve
- Help transition successful initiatives into permanent product teams, operating functions, or new business lines
Requirements
- Experience working in a product management, software engineering, or forward deployed role on a team that required outcome ownership (e.g., fast-growing startup, a 0 -> 1 business line at a high-performing organization)
- Track record of taking ambiguous, cross-functional problems and independently driving them through to measurable outcomes
- Technical judgment and the ability to reason about software, data, AI systems, and operational processes
- Hands-on experience using AI and technical tools to prototype, analyze, automate, or build rather than relying exclusively on specifications and engineering resources
- Strong written and verbal communication that allows you to be an effective participant in both internal debates and external relationships
- Track record of moving quickly, finding shortcuts, and going to unreasonable lengths to deliver on goals
- High NPS with your former teammates
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience in fast-growing startups or 0->1 business lines at high-performing organizations
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $170,000 - $300,000
- Competitive compensation with meaningful equity
- Fully covered medical, vision, and dental insurance
- Memberships for One Medical, Talkspace, Teladoc, and Kindbody
- Unlimited paid time off (PTO) and 16 weeks of parental leave
