Datacenter Operations Technician
Hands-on data center technician responsible for server/network infrastructure health, troubleshooting, racking/stacking, inventory management, and ticket resolution. Requires 2+ years hardware experience and physical capability for data center work.

Responsibilities
- Report to the job site during initial construction and report back to the engineering team as required
- Perform troubleshooting and monitoring of servers and network in data centers and global points of presence
- Rack and stack data center network equipment
- Maintain warehouse inventory and asset management using internal application
- Label and troubleshoot fiber/optics cables
- Power supply cabling, installation, troubleshooting and repair
- Install racks, servers and switches including staging, cabling, power up and handoff to provisioning team
- Manage, respond to and resolve data center operations tickets via Jira
- Create and maintain documentation of tasks and standard operating procedures
- Handle receipt and decommissioning of data center hardware
- Manage vendor returns for infrastructure under and out of warranty
- Manage spare parts inventory within the data center
- Define, design, and implement network layouts and solutions within data centers
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 2+ years of experience working with server, storage, compute and network hardware
- 2+ years of experience troubleshooting and repairing servers and networking infrastructure
- 2+ years of experience in inventory management, ordering, receiving and shipping server and network equipment
- Position subject to pre-employment drug and random drug/alcohol testing
- Position subject to pre-employment and annual background checks
- Ability to work in tight quarters with physical dexterity
- Ability to lift up to 35lbs unassisted
- Comfortable working at heights up to 50 feet with appropriate safety gear
- Comfortable working in noisy environments
- Available to work evenings and weekends with schedule flexibility
Nice-to-Haves
- Strong Linux skills: navigating directories, file manipulation, user permissions, package installation, filesystem types, process management, basic troubleshooting, Bash scripting
- Experience being on-call and responding to critical events
- Experience leading data center infrastructure projects
- 4+ years of experience in structured cabling (copper/fiber)
- 4+ years of experience in power and cooling concepts inside data centers
- Oracle experience
- Excellent prioritization, time management, and detail orientation
