Staff Software Engineer
Build large-scale backend infrastructure and distributed services for Databricks’ data and AI platform. The role requires a bachelor’s degree and extensive production experience with a major programming language and distributed systems.

Responsibilities
- Build and run reliable, scalable data and AI infrastructure services.
- Solve distributed systems, large-scale service architecture, monitoring, workflow orchestration, and developer experience challenges.
- Deliver reliable, high-performance services and client libraries for storing and accessing large amounts of data on cloud storage backends such as AWS S3 and Azure Blob Store.
- Build scalable services using Scala and Kubernetes.
- Develop data pipelines using Apache Spark and Databricks.
- Power pricing infrastructure serving millions of cluster-hours per day.
- Develop product features that help customers view and control platform usage.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
- 12+ years of production-level experience in Python, Java, Scala, C++, or a similar language.
- 6+ years of experience developing large-scale distributed systems from scratch.
- Experience working on a SaaS platform or with service-oriented architectures.
