Forward Deployed Engineer
Own technical design, delivery, and production support for telecommunications partner integrations across Europe. The role combines customer-facing technical leadership, hands-on software engineering, troubleshooting, and solution delivery across the full customer lifecycle.

Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end technical design, delivery, and ongoing support of partner integrations, primarily with telecommunications operators across Europe.
- Collaborate with Business Development and Account teams during pre-sales and delivery engagements to explain technical requirements and integration approaches.
- Serve as the technical lead in customer and partner conversations.
- Build trusted relationships with customer engineering and technical teams throughout the customer lifecycle.
- Work with Product and Engineering on system architecture, roadmap priorities, and delivery timelines.
- Contribute code, configuration changes, tooling, automation, dashboards, reports, and technical improvements supporting customer implementations and operational excellence.
- Query data meshes for integration validation, troubleshooting, operational analysis, and customer investigations.
- Influence partner integration models, including integrations involving major vendors such as Ericsson.
- Investigate production issues, troubleshoot integration challenges, and coordinate resolution across customers, vendors, and internal teams.
- Navigate and contribute to production codebases when needed for implementations and technical investigations.
Requirements
- Experience presenting technical concepts and engineering tradeoffs to audiences with varying technical backgrounds.
- Strong written and verbal communication, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to learn complex technical domains and systems quickly.
- Proven success in customer-facing technical roles involving ambiguity, incomplete information, and changing requirements.
- Ability to own problems from initial customer conversation through implementation, delivery, and ongoing production support.
- Technical credibility with engineering teams and business fluency with customers, partners, and stakeholders.
- Experience coordinating troubleshooting across multiple teams, vendors, and partner organizations.
- Ability to operate independently, identify stakeholders, gather information, and create plans amid uncertainty.
- Pragmatic approach to tooling and automation.
- Experience with APIs, integrations, distributed systems, or customer-facing software implementations.
- Good command of SQL and structured datasets.
- Recent hands-on software engineering experience designing, building, supporting, or modifying production systems.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools and workflows.
Nice to Have
- Experience with telecommunications operators, communications platforms, or carrier ecosystems.
- Experience supporting large-scale enterprise integrations.
- Familiarity with SIP, telephony, networking, or communications technologies.
- Experience navigating Scala codebases.
- Experience in Forward Deployed Engineer, Solutions Engineer, Integration Engineer, Technical Account Engineer, or similar customer-facing engineering roles.
- Experience with modern production software systems and engineering codebases.
- Experience building integrations between systems, APIs, platforms, or enterprise software products.
- Experience in startup or high-growth environments.
- Experience bridging customer requirements and engineering execution.
Compensation
- Annual salary: £65,000–£80,000.
