The Solutions Architect partners with startup-focused sales teams in France to lead technical discovery, design cloud-native data and AI architectures, run evaluations, and drive customer adoption. The role requires at least five years of customer-facing architecture or pre-sales experience, programming skills, and fluency in French and English.

Responsibilities
- Partner with Startups Account Executives to build and execute technical account strategy for acquiring new logos and growing Databricks consumption on existing accounts.
- Engage founders, CTOs, VPs of Engineering/Data, architects, and technical practitioners in consultative discovery; translate business priorities into data, analytics, AI, and platform use cases.
- Lead the technical sales motion from discovery through evaluation by defining success criteria, developing solution architectures, delivering demonstrations, guiding sizing, coordinating proofs of concept, and establishing a path to adoption.
- Provide technical leadership across data engineering, data warehousing, analytics and BI, machine learning, GenAI, Apps, Lakebase, and related cloud-native workloads.
- Connect customer outcomes to the Databricks platform and help stakeholders make architecture and technology decisions.
- Use account context and customer signals, including consumption movement, user activity, feature adoption, architecture, security, and cost considerations, to prioritize technical engagements.
- Contribute to the startup and technical ecosystem through workshops, office hours, meetups, events, partner activity, and other 1:many engagements.
- Collaborate with Sales, Product, Engineering, delivery and services teams, Support, and technology partners to represent customer needs, remove technical blockers, and accelerate adoption.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in a customer-facing pre-sales, technical architecture, consulting, or equivalent role.
- Experience leading technical discovery and architecture discussions with software engineers, data teams, architects, and senior technical decision-makers.
- Experience designing and architecting distributed data systems and cloud-native solutions.
- Hands-on programming experience in at least one of Python, SQL, Scala, or Java.
- Experience building solutions with one or more public-cloud providers, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Depth in at least one relevant domain, such as data engineering, data warehousing, analytics and BI, data science, machine learning, GenAI, streaming, OLTP, or data governance.
- Experience taking ambiguous customer problems from use-case discovery through solution design, evaluation, and a clear technical outcome.
- Strong business communication skills, including explaining technical trade-offs, connecting architecture to business value, and communicating through presentations, whiteboarding, written points of view, and platform demonstrations.
- Ability to operate with pace and autonomy across multiple accounts, prioritize effort, and collaborate effectively with Account Executives and the wider account team.
- Customer-first mindset, strong curiosity, and ability to learn quickly in a fast-moving technology environment.
- Business proficiency in both French and English.
- Willingness to travel up to 20–30% as required.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience working with high-growth technology companies, product engineering teams, SaaS businesses, founders, or venture-backed organizations.
- Experience with Apache Spark, Delta Lake, MLflow, or comparable modern data and AI technologies.
- Familiarity with startup, VC, accelerator, ISV, or cloud-partner ecosystems.
- Databricks and cloud certifications.
- Fluency in Italian and/or Spanish.
