Responsibilities
- Design and execute policymaker engagement strategies focused on New York City, New York State, and other priority jurisdictions.
- Develop expertise on public policy issues with commercial and reputational importance, including tax, artificial intelligence, content moderation, and emerging policy matters.
- Identify and assess state and local policy issues affecting the company and develop advocacy strategies.
- Collaborate with Legal, Communications, Social Impact, Product, Compliance, and Trust & Safety teams to develop policy narratives and approaches.
- Build relationships with trade associations, civil society organizations, policymakers, government officials, industry peers, and other external stakeholders.
- Represent the company in support of its policy priorities.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience developing and implementing public policy or government affairs strategies and working with policymakers or other public policy stakeholders.
- Experience in government, the private sector, a trade association, or a related public policy environment.
- Strong relationships with policymakers in New York City, New York State, and other priority jurisdictions.
- Experience developing technology-sector public policy strategies and translating complex policy developments into business implications.
- Experience engaging senior government officials, private-sector leaders, and public policy professionals.
- Ability to execute advocacy strategies while balancing multiple stakeholders and priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt messaging for policymakers, business leaders, and cross-functional partners.
- Collaborative working style, sound judgment, integrity, and comfort operating in a changing policy environment.
- Ability to travel throughout the United States as needed, occasionally on short notice.
