Responsibilities
Strategic Escalations and Architecture
- Resolve complex developer cases involving multi-product architectures, ISV integration designs, and strategic account escalations.
- Serve as the technical link between Developer Support and ISV Partnerships, working with strategic partners on integration design.
- Advise customers and partners on architecture and resolve issues beyond standard support scope.
Product and Executive Engagement
- Partner with Product Management and Engineering to advocate for customer needs, surface systemic integration issues, and shape the Okta WIC product roadmap.
- Act as a trusted technical advisor for key accounts, managing critical customer situations and delivering resolutions.
- Build relationships across Product, Engineering, ISV Partnerships, and Operations to advance key initiatives.
Team Leadership and Operations
- Coach Senior Developer Support Engineers on complex technical cases, time management, and customer handling.
- Build and maintain runbooks, internal best practices, and training materials for global teams.
- Lead technical reviews and team learning sessions to address skills gaps and introduce product knowledge.
- Champion new tools and processes and support effective adoption.
Requirements
- 8+ years in technical support, developer relations, solutions engineering, or software development with significant customer- or partner-facing experience.
- BA/BS/MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Broad experience across Azure, AWS, GCP, and Docker.
- Knowledge of MCP servers and experience with Claude and Codex.
- Expert-level understanding of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and SAML, including protocol-level debugging.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise-scale SCIM, including schema design, provisioning flows, attribute mapping, and failure patterns.
- Fluency in at least one statically typed language such as Java, .NET, or Go, and one dynamically typed language such as Python or JavaScript/Node.js.
- Ability to write reproductions, read code, analyze HTTP traces, and work with OpenAPI specifications.
- Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle and ability to engage engineering peers as a technical equal.
- Clear, adaptable communication with both engineers and executives.
- Based in Canada; Toronto, Ottawa, or Montreal preferred.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience building or supporting integrations with ISVs or technology partners at scale.
- Familiarity with the Okta ecosystem, including Workforce Identity Cloud, OIN, or IPSIE/NHI.
- Experience with Workday, ServiceNow, Salesforce, Kong, or MuleSoft.
- Prior experience in Forward Deployed Engineering, Solutions Engineering, or Developer Relations.
- Experience in regulated industries such as financial services or healthcare.
- Familiarity with FIDO2, passkeys, and device trust flows.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual base salary range for candidates in Canada: $140,000–$192,500 CAD.
