Accounting Manager
Accounting Manager reporting to Senior Accounting Manager, driving global close processes, AI/automation adoption, process improvements, and ERP transformation to SAP S/4HANA at Databricks. Requires CPA, 6+ years experience (public accounting + high-growth tech/SaaS), US GAAP expertise, and leadership in mentoring accounting staff.

Responsibilities
- Drive accountability and ownership across global close processes to ensure timeliness and accuracy of deliverables.
- Drive adoption of AI and automation across close areas, including AI-assisted reconciliations, automated accrual workflows, and leveraging the Databricks platform.
- Mentor and manage accounting staff, leading coordination of monthly, quarterly, and annual close and reporting activities.
- Identify and implement process improvements, standard templates, and control points to improve scalability, reduce manual effort, and increase automation.
- Review monthly journal entries, reconciliations, accounting analysis for accruals (specifically cloud), and other areas as needed.
- Support M&A activity including consolidation of acquired entities, new transactions, and integration into accounting infrastructure.
- Review monthly fluctuation analysis for operating expenses.
- Partner with cross-functional teams such as Technical Accounting, FP&A, Procurement, and AP on monthly close matters.
- Prepare and review support for external audit team.
- Support SOX compliance over the financial statement close cycle.
- Identify and implement process improvements and automation to reduce time to close and improve accuracy.
- Play an active role in ERP transformation to SAP S/4HANA, contributing to design decisions, testing, and change management.
- Perform special projects and financial analysis as needed.
This is an individual contributor role with the opportunity to build and lead a team as the organization grows.
Requirements
- 3+ years of public accounting and 3+ years of industry experience in a high-growth technology or SaaS environment.
- CPA and Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- Deep understanding of U.S. GAAP and application across multiple processes, systems, and close areas.
- Experience with ERP systems; SAP S/4HANA experience preferred. Prior ERP implementation experience is a strong plus.
- Proven track record driving automation and AI adoption in accounting operations, with hands-on experience implementing tools that reduce manual work and improve close accuracy. Familiarity with data platforms like Databricks is a strong plus.
- Execution-focused, deadline-driven, and process-oriented with ability to deliver quality work in a fast-paced environment and proactively drive improvements.
- Experience managing and coaching accounting staff, with a track record of developing others and driving team accountability.
Compensation
- Zone 1 Pay Range: $145,700—$200,300 USD (this role is in Zone 1).
- Total compensation package may also include eligibility for annual performance bonus, equity, and benefits.
