Forward Deployed Engineer, Public Sector
Forward-deployed engineer supporting public sector accounts by building and deploying MLOps and AI solutions in regulated environments. The role combines Python and cloud infrastructure expertise with customer discovery, technical solutioning, and strategic advisory responsibilities.

Responsibilities
- Take ownership of strategic public sector customer accounts and engagements.
- Learn customer environments, data, tooling stacks, and commercial objectives while shadowing senior FDEs.
- Execute independently against prioritized customer backlogs in partnership with Engagement Managers.
- Build and deploy production-grade solutions across the MLOps lifecycle, including development, deployment, and monitoring.
- Advise data science teams on Domino best practices.
- Lead key accounts and advise technical and business stakeholders as a trusted advisor.
- Author reusable playbooks, integration templates, and deployment guides.
- Translate field intelligence into product feedback for SRE, Support, and Product teams.
- Conduct structured discovery conversations and lead technical solutioning sessions.
- Translate customer requirements into buildable, tested solutions.
Requirements
- Active TS/SCI clearance with Full-Scope Polygraph (FSP), with the ability to meet and maintain role-related clearance requirements.
- Willingness to live in or regularly travel to Maryland; customer engagements and on-site requirements may require five days per week.
- Strong engineering background with deep proficiency in Python.
- Familiarity with SQL and Bash.
- Experience with Kubernetes or managed Kubernetes services such as EKS, AKS, or GKE.
- Experience with Docker and cloud architecture on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Ability to troubleshoot networking, compute, and platform issues.
- Track record delivering machine learning workflows, model deployment and monitoring, GPU workloads, and generative AI or agent frameworks.
- Experience operating in or consulting for highly regulated or constrained environments.
- Exceptional communication skills with technical and business audiences.
- Ability to work independently in ambiguous environments and become productive quickly in unfamiliar codebases.
Compensation
- Total compensation range: $175,000–$220,000 USD.
- Compensation may include equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses, 401(k), medical, dental, vision, and wellness stipends.
