UX Researcher Senior/Staff
Senior/staff UX Researcher leading mixed-methods research for complex enterprise, analytics, and AI-enabled products. The role partners with Product, Design, and Engineering to influence strategy, prioritize customer needs, and improve research practices.

Responsibilities
- Define research strategies for complex, ambiguous product and customer problems.
- Plan and execute qualitative and quantitative research, including interviews, contextual inquiry, workflow observation, ethnographic research, concept testing, usability testing, surveys, product behavior analysis, and competitive research.
- Recruit and engage customers, prospects, operators, engineers, managers, executives, and internal subject-matter experts.
- Conduct remote and in-person research sessions, including in industrial and technical environments.
- Synthesize evidence to identify patterns, unmet needs, root causes, opportunities, and tradeoffs.
- Produce clear, actionable research readouts.
- Embed research throughout product discovery, development, and post-launch learning.
- Influence product strategy, roadmap decisions, prioritization, terminology, information architecture, workflow design, and release readiness.
- Translate customer evidence into problem statements, requirements, acceptance criteria, and testable hypotheses.
- Research complex, data-heavy, analytics, automation, and AI-enabled experiences.
- Establish standards for research planning, recruiting, moderation, synthesis, documentation, and communication.
- Maintain an organized body of customer evidence and improve research prioritization.
- Mentor researchers and help cross-functional teams build sound research practices.
Requirements
- 6+ years of professional experience in UX research, user research, human factors, a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Experience leading research for complex products, workflows, or services with significant ambiguity.
- Strong qualitative research skills, including interviewing, contextual inquiry, usability testing, concept testing, moderation, and synthesis.
- Ability to use quantitative research, product behavior data, surveys, and analytics to strengthen findings and support decisions.
- Experience partnering with Product, Design, and Engineering from discovery through delivery and post-launch learning.
- Experience influencing product strategy, roadmap decisions, or prioritization through research and customer evidence.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Sound judgment regarding research quality, participant ethics, confidentiality, accessibility, and customer information.
- Experience mentoring others, improving team practices, or creating leverage beyond individual studies.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and create structure in ambiguous environments.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in B2B, SaaS, enterprise software, industrial technology, manufacturing, energy, chemicals, life sciences, or another technically complex domain.
- Experience with data analytics, process analytics, dashboards, visualization, monitoring, or other data-heavy products.
- Experience researching multi-user workflows, role-based experiences, permissions, governance, or collaboration.
- Experience researching AI or machine-learning-enabled products, including trust, transparency, explainability, confidence, and human control.
- Experience with mixed-methods research, experimentation, longitudinal research, or product analytics.
- Experience establishing a research repository, participant program, customer advisory practice, or other repeatable research capability.
- Formal education in psychology, cognitive science, human-computer interaction, human factors, sociology, anthropology, or a related field.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary: $1170,000–$140,000, dependent on leveling, plus bonus incentives.
