Responsibilities
- Own the research strategy and roadmap for a core product area, aligning priorities with customer needs, product direction, and business objectives.
- Frame ambiguous questions into focused research plans and select appropriate qualitative, quantitative, generative, or evaluative methods.
- Lead mixed-method research across the product lifecycle, including discovery, concept testing, usability testing, field research, surveys, benchmarking, and post-launch evaluation.
- Translate findings into clear recommendations for Product, Design, Engineering, Data, and business partners.
- Synthesize research with product analytics, customer feedback, Pendo, and Dovetail knowledge.
- Define success measures and evaluate outcomes such as efficiency, comprehension, confidence, error reduction, and customer satisfaction.
- Surface unmet needs, challenge assumptions, and bring customer perspectives into planning and prioritization.
- Use AI to accelerate research planning, analysis, synthesis, and knowledge sharing while protecting participant privacy and maintaining research rigor.
- Create reusable research workflows, maintain a durable research repository, and coach partners and designers on research practices.
- Communicate research status, decisions, risks, and open questions to partners and leadership.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience conducting user or product research.
- Track record of leading mixed-method studies that influenced product direction and delivered customer and business value.
- Strong command of qualitative and quantitative research methods.
- Experience owning research from problem framing through activation, including study design, participant engagement, facilitation, analysis, synthesis, storytelling, and follow-through.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, work autonomously, and prioritize competing needs.
- Strong analytical, synthesis, collaboration, influence, and communication skills.
- Pragmatic approach balancing research rigor, speed, risk, and team needs.
- AI fluency and sound judgment regarding participant privacy, data handling, and AI-generated analysis limitations.
- Customer focus, intellectual curiosity, and willingness to challenge assumptions.

Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive salary of $149,000–$205,000.
