Senior Developer Advocate

Empowers developers to secure applications with Auth0 through workshops, technical content, public speaking, and community engagement. The role also channels developer feedback into product, documentation, SDK, and API improvements and requires strong application-development and identity-security knowledge.

About the job

Responsibilities

  • Represent Auth0 at industry events, conferences, and webinars.
  • Create technical content, including blog posts, tutorials, videos, and labs.
  • Build and nurture relationships with developers and customers in the developer community, with a focus on startups.
  • Educate and empower developers to implement identity, access management, and cybersecurity best practices with Auth0.
  • Advocate for developers' needs and pain points within Okta's Auth0 Product unit.
  • Collaborate with Product and Architecture teams as a representative of Developer Relations.
  • Help craft and launch Auth0 capabilities by reviewing early documentation, SDKs, and product capabilities.
  • Bring developer feedback into the company to inform improvements to documentation, APIs, SDKs, and features.
  • Travel 30% or more.

Requirements

  • Technical background or strong understanding of application development and IT operations.
  • Hands-on experience deploying, configuring, or implementing software tools and products.
  • Ability to explain complex technology concepts clearly and intuitively.
  • Strong independent-contributor skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, iterative environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience as a Developer Advocate, Developer Evangelist, Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, Technical Customer Success Manager, or Technical Account Manager.
  • Experience with authentication or authorization protocols such as OAuth, OAuth2, OIDC, SAML, or LDAP.
  • Understanding of application security concerns, including password hashing, SSL/TLS, encryption at rest, XSS, and XSRF.
  • Experience building web, mobile, and IoT applications across front-end and back-end technologies.
  • Experience with REST and GraphQL APIs, browser developer tools, HTTP traffic, curl, or Postman.
  • Experience running code sprints or technology workshops.
  • Experience working with startups, nonprofits, or SaaS developers.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Annual base salary: $147,000–$202,400 USD for candidates located in California (excluding the San Francisco Bay Area), Colorado, Illinois, New York, and Washington.
