Database Support Engineer, EMEA
Provides technical support to customers using relational database platforms, handling administration, design, optimization, troubleshooting, and implementation. Requires customer-facing technical support experience, strong PostgreSQL or database expertise, and the ability to work remotely from the EMEA region.

Responsibilities
- Provide deep technical support to customers across TimescaleDB administration, database design, optimization, and implementation.
- Manage support cases from beginning to end.
- Build and maintain close customer relationships.
- Learn new products and improve products, processes, and culture.
- Participate in an approximately every-five-weeks on-call rotation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or equivalent experience.
- Relational database experience at scale, including administration, data modeling, and query optimization.
- Experience with relational databases; PostgreSQL experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience providing technical support to external customers.
- Ability to learn new software products quickly.
- Strong communication skills, patience, and empathy when troubleshooting complex technical concepts for varied audiences.
- Availability for weekday Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts during local hours.
- Candidates must be based within the EMEA region.
Nice-to-Haves
- Familiarity with TimescaleDB.
- Broad cloud computing knowledge and experience with AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure.
- Experience with NoSQL databases and data modeling tools.
- PostgreSQL expertise, including best practices, query plan analysis, backup and restore, and migrations.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Go, and Python.
- Experience with Tiger Cloud, hypertables, Hypercore, vector search, or real-time analytics.
