Responsibilities
- Lead technical implementation: Spend at least 50% of time hands-on with Python code, building core platform capabilities, optimizing LLM performance, and solving complex technical challenges.
- Set technical direction: Define technical standards, review critical code, and ensure architectural decisions align with product vision.
- Drive AI architecture: Design and implement agent framework, orchestration systems, and LLM integration patterns; make decisions about model selection, prompt strategies, and system architecture.
- Mentor & elevate: Mentor senior engineers, conduct technical reviews, and help team level up AI and systems expertise.
Requirements
- 10+ years software engineering experience, including 3+ years applying AI/ML in practice, and 3+ years in technical leadership.
- GenAI expertise: LLMs, context management, prompting strategies, tool use, prompt caching, multi-modality, structured outputs, model differences, sampling parameters (top-p, temperature, min-p).
- Technical visionary: Anticipate AI field direction, scalable architectures, track key changes.
- Hands-on builder: Write production code daily, lead by example.
- Proven technical leadership without formal authority.
- Strong communication: Explain complex AI concepts, document decisions.
