Senior Engineering Manager — Network Connectivity
Leads a distributed team building and operating network egress infrastructure, owning technical vision, delivery, reliability, and production operations. Requires at least five years of engineering management experience plus expertise or interest in networking and distributed systems.

Responsibilities
- Hire, mentor, and coach a distributed team of software engineers.
- Shape team culture and technical vision.
- Partner with product managers and engineering leaders to communicate vision, prioritize the roadmap, and achieve cross-functional objectives.
- Evaluate technical implications across distributed network infrastructure, influence scope, work across teams, and unblock projects.
- Contribute to design decisions, evaluate tradeoffs, and resolve customer-facing issues while enabling engineers to lead design, implementation, and delivery.
- Own production services by organizing on-call rotations, handling customer escalations, and overseeing incident response and follow-up.
- Drive reliability and automation improvements across the platform.
- Use tools and processes to communicate project status and resolve blockers.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as an engineering manager for software and systems engineering teams.
- Track record of hiring, onboarding, and developing team members.
- Ability to plan and oversee execution predictably and meet commitments.
- Experience or interest in Layer 3 and Layer 4 networking.
- Experience or interest in network performance monitoring and tuning.
- Experience monitoring, alerting, and debugging distributed systems.
- Experience participating in or managing on-call rotations for production services with direct customer impact.
- Willingness to adopt and integrate AI tools and systems into workflows.
- Clear written and verbal communication.
Compensation
- Portugal-based hires: estimated annual salary of €89,000–€122,000.
- Eligible to participate in the company equity plan.
