What you'll do
- Build Descript's field marketing strategy from the ground up, including planning, processes, measurement, and annual programming.
- Develop and execute integrated field marketing programs that generate pipeline, accelerate opportunities, and strengthen customer relationships.
- Own end-to-end execution of in-person and virtual experiences, including executive dinners, workshops, conferences, customer events, roadshows, webinars, and community gatherings.
- Partner closely with Enterprise Sales to identify priority accounts, align programs to territory plans, and create experiences that help move deals forward.
- Collaborate with Product Marketing, Brand, Demand Generation, Partnerships, and Customer Success to create cohesive campaigns before, during, and after every event.
- Build playbooks for event planning, sales engagement, lead follow-up, reporting, and program operations that can scale as the team grows.
- Manage budgets, vendors, agencies, venues, and logistics while creating thoughtful attendee experiences that reflect the Descript brand.
- Measure and communicate program impact across pipeline, revenue influence, customer engagement, and qualitative feedback to help shape future investments.
- Represent Descript at industry events and build authentic relationships with customers, prospects, creators, and partners.
What we're looking for
- 3-5 years of experience in B2B marketing, with 2+ years of field marketing or event experience. Also open to 4+ years of events agency experience (especially if you have worked with B2B clients).
- You've built programs, not just executed them. You enjoy creating structure where it doesn't yet exist.
- Experience partnering closely with Sales to drive pipeline and revenue outcomes.
- Strong project management skills with exceptional attention to detail—you can manage dozens of moving pieces without losing sight of the bigger picture.
- You're equally comfortable developing a strategy, negotiating with a venue, reviewing event signage, and presenting results to leadership.
- You use data to make decisions and know how to measure marketing impact beyond registration numbers.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a bias toward action.
- Comfortable wearing multiple hats in a fast-moving startup environment.
- Willingness to travel approximately 25–35%.
Bonus points if you have
- Experience marketing SaaS products to marketing, communications, creative, or enterprise teams.
- Experience building a field marketing function or launching a new program.
- Experience with account-based marketing strategies.
- Experience producing workshops or educational experiences—not just traditional events.
- A genuine appreciation for storytelling, video, podcasts, AI, or the creative process.
