Associate Solution Engineer
Supports sales and senior solution engineers with customer presentations, demos, technical evaluations, and solution proposals for Snowflake’s data platform. The role requires foundational SQL, database, cloud, and analytics knowledge, strong learning ability, Japanese fluency, and comfort working in English.

Responsibilities
- Partner with sales teams and Senior Solution Engineers to support presentations, demonstrations, and technical explanations for prospective and existing customers.
- Understand customers’ business challenges and technical requirements, and connect them to Snowflake’s value in solution proposals.
- Support preparation and execution of proofs of concept and technical evaluations throughout the sales cycle.
- Continuously learn about developments in data, cloud, and AI, including competing technologies and related vendors.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, marketing, and other internal teams to share field learnings and customer feedback.
- Gradually develop technical, presentation, and customer-proposal skills in line with the development expectations of the Japan Solution Engineering organization.
Requirements
- Strong interest in and ability to continuously learn about SaaS, cloud, data platforms, analytics, and AI.
- Ability and willingness to explain technical concepts clearly to customers or internal stakeholders.
- Basic understanding of databases, data warehouses, ETL, analytics, and cloud technologies, or the foundation to learn them quickly.
- Basic SQL and data-utilization knowledge, or hands-on learning experience.
- Ability to understand customer challenges and connect them to solution proposals.
- Degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Fluency in Japanese and comfort working in English.
- Collaborative, team-oriented approach to learning and delivering results.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in presales, solution consulting, Sales Engineering, Solution Engineering, consulting, or a similar role.
- Experience with demos, hands-on sessions, proofs of concept, technical evaluations, or customer presentations.
- Knowledge of public cloud, business intelligence, data integration, or AI/ML technologies.
- Experience working across both technical and business functions in a customer-facing environment.
- Ability to independently learn and act in a fast-changing environment.
