Assistant Manager, Air Operations
Coordinates end-to-end air freight shipments, documentation, invoicing, customer service, and partner communication while maintaining system accuracy and regulatory compliance. The role requires a bachelor’s degree, IATA certification, and at least five years of air operations or related logistics experience.

Responsibilities
- Execute end-to-end air shipments, including receiving bookings and coordinating with shippers, consignees, agents, airlines, trucking partners, terminals, and internal teams.
- Arrange shipments according to provided SOPs and maintain accurate shipment files in company systems.
- Complete MAWBs and HAWBs, ensure timely and accurate file handling, and file AMS or submit EDI (FHL/FWB) as required.
- Invoice clients and agents promptly, and check and confirm subcontractor invoices for accuracy and timeliness.
- Provide customer service by following up on customer advice, requests, claims, and feedback, and communicating with customers and overseas teams.
- Escalate irregularities and operational problems to senior team members or managers.
- Provide feedback on subcontractor standards and services.
- Ensure operational activities comply with international shipping regulations, company policies, and customer SOPs.
- Prepare customer statistics and reports and support special requests for system improvements.
- Keep Flexport systems updated to meet KPIs and maintain high-quality data.
- Collaborate with account managers and customs teams to ensure smooth operations and a strong customer experience.
- Identify and suggest process improvements that increase efficiency and quality.
- Support teammates and take on additional tasks as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain, business, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in air operations or related freight forwarding/logistics roles.
- IATA certification.
- Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
- Detail-oriented, structured, and eager to learn global supply chain operations.
- Customer-focused approach, with the ability to respond promptly and professionally to customer needs, calls, and queries.
