Responsibilities
- Build backend systems for Pinner-facing features.
- Lead and contribute throughout product development, including ideation, prototyping, A/B testing, technical design, implementation, and release.
- Partner with design, product, and backend teams to build end-to-end functionality.
- Propose new product ideas and features.
- Use automated testing to deliver reliable, high-quality features.
- Design, develop, and operate large-scale distributed systems and networks.
- Work with engineering customers to understand requirements and deliver scalable, efficient solutions.
- Improve developer processes and experience from coding through operations.
- Use AI to accelerate drafting, prototyping, outlining, iteration, comparison, information synthesis, documentation, reporting, and QA checks.
Requirements
- 5+ years of industry backend development experience building consumer- or business-facing products.
- Proficiency with backend technology stacks for RESTful APIs, online services, storage, caching, and data processing.
- Experience writing reliable, maintainable code used by many engineers.
- Ability to evaluate and adopt relevant new technologies.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Experience leading or owning projects, mentoring, or driving technical thought leadership.
- Experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems or networks.
- Experience with Python, Java, C++, Go, or another programming language, with willingness to learn.
- Ability to use AI to improve day-to-day execution and quality.
- Ability to critically evaluate and verify AI-assisted work through testing, source-checking, data validation, or peer review.
- High integrity, ownership, and accountability for decisions and deliverables.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, or equivalent experience.

Compensation
- Base salary range: €92,223–€161,390.
