Head of People
Leads Cape’s People organization and talent strategy through rapid growth from 100 to 300+ employees. The role owns recruiting, retention, organizational development, compensation, performance management, and leadership programs while partnering directly with the CEO and executive team.

Responsibilities
- Own Cape’s talent strategy and People organization across Recruiting and HR.
- Build and lead the People team, beginning with hiring a Head of Recruiting.
- Design and execute the People department roadmap and build best-in-class programs.
- Build a recruiting engine that attracts top talent by optimizing capacity and tooling, improving business partnerships and process efficiency, and strengthening workforce planning.
- Elevate the employee experience to support strong retention, referrals, and engagement through investments in total rewards, people systems, and career progression.
- Lead the transition from a 100-person company to 300+ employees by refining organizational structure, formalizing career advancement, and improving performance reviews and succession planning.
- Professionalize management practices, maintain company culture at scale, develop leaders, establish career paths, and create a management training program.
- Stay close to employees through hands-on talent sourcing, employee sentiment monitoring, and tight feedback loops.
- Partner with executive and business unit leaders on company-level decisions.
Requirements
- 10+ years of progressive People experience, including 3–5 years in a leadership role.
- Direct experience in Recruiting.
- Significant experience in a high-growth startup where you built People processes and teams from an early stage.
- Strong command of talent acquisition, compensation, performance management, and daily People operations.
- Experience working cross-functionally with executive and business unit leaders.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $275,000–$350,000.
