Forward Deployed Engineer
Build and deploy Figma-powered, AI-assisted workflows for strategic enterprise customers, solving complex integration and adoption challenges across codebases, design systems, and developer environments. The role requires 5+ years of end-to-end production engineering experience, strong customer partnership skills, and proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript, or Python.

Responsibilities
- Embed with strategic enterprise customers to solve complex technical adoption and integration challenges.
- Make enterprise design systems agent-ready for AI-generated code by fixing tokens, naming, guidelines, connecting Code Connect, and running evaluations.
- Implement Figma products in customer environments using code, configuration, agent skills, and guideline files.
- Conduct technical discovery of customer development environments, toolchains, and constraints, then define paths to value.
- Debug unfamiliar integration problems involving Git workflows, CI, development environments, and non-standard technology stacks.
- Build LLM-powered workflows using MCP setup, agent skills, and context-specific prompt engineering.
- Turn one-off solutions into reusable playbooks, product feedback, and scalable product improvements.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, Sales, and Customer Experience teams to influence and build product improvements.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience shipping production software end-to-end, including meaningful customer- or partner-facing experience.
- Strong engineering fundamentals and adaptability across unfamiliar codebases, languages, and technical environments.
- Experience with design systems and design-to-code workflows, including tokens and component libraries, or the ability to ramp quickly.
- Excellent customer-facing communication and technical partnership skills with senior engineers.
- Proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript, or Python.
- Hands-on experience integrating APIs and SDKs, troubleshooting toolchains and CI environments, and navigating enterprise requirements such as SSO, security reviews, access controls, data residency, and compliance frameworks.

- Experience operating independently in ambiguous, evolving problem spaces.
- Strong product mindset and experience translating customer insights into product feedback.
- Background in forward-deployed engineering, solutions engineering, professional services, developer experience, or similar customer-facing technical work.
- Familiarity with developer tools, design-to-code workflows, or AI/LLM products.
- Experience with Code Connect, Storybook, Style Dictionary, or comparable technologies.
- Experience partnering with Sales, Customer Experience, Solutions Architecture, or related teams on complex enterprise engagements.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual base salary: $153,000–$376,000 USD.
- Equity and benefits including health, dental, and vision coverage; retirement contributions; parental and family-planning support; mental health and wellness benefits; and paid time off.
- Additional benefits may include recharge days, cell phone and home internet reimbursements, lifestyle spending accounts, and an annual bonus plan for eligible non-sales roles.
