Director, Technical Account Management
Leads Datadog’s EMEA Technical Account Management organization, scaling teams and leadership while owning technical post-sales strategy, customer outcomes, executive relationships, and services revenue. The role requires extensive leadership, commercial services experience, cloud and observability fluency, and prior client-facing technical expertise.

Responsibilities
- Scale the EMEA TAM organization from 25–30 to 50–70+, hiring first-line leaders, designing team structures, and building systems that sustain quality through rapid growth.
- Lead managers and senior TAM individual contributors across EMEA, ensuring customer success, retention, expansion, and high standards of technical delivery.
- Own the commercial strategy for the Technical Post-Sales program, partnering with Sales to position, price, and sell TAM services.
- Define and execute regional OKRs aligned with global TPS goals.
- Lead executive-level recruiting and build an internal leadership pipeline.
- Serve as executive sponsor for strategic EMEA accounts, engaging C-suite stakeholders, resolving escalations, and identifying expansion opportunities.
- Partner with global TPS, Product, Sales Engineering, Customer Success, and Enablement to standardize and evolve the TAM offering.
- Establish operational rigor through metrics, health scorecards, capacity planning, and forecasting.
- Drive performance reviews, career growth plans, talent development, and retention of top talent.
Requirements
- 8+ years leading Professional Services, Technical Account Management, or Sales Engineering teams, including experience scaling an organization from fewer than 25 to 50+ employees.
- Experience managing managers, hiring and developing first-line leaders, and building leadership depth.
- Direct experience selling or co-selling services and growing services revenue.
- Technical fluency across infrastructure, cloud platforms, observability, and monitoring.
- Strategic operating ability, combining vision, execution, scalable systems, and team development.
- 3–5+ years earlier in the career as a TAM, Solutions Architect, or equivalent client-facing technical individual contributor.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% across EMEA.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience redesigning organizational structures during periods of growth.
- Experience evangelizing cloud adoption, observability, or security to C-level and board-level stakeholders across EMEA.
- Hands-on experience with Datadog or other leading cloud monitoring and observability platforms.
- Multilingual ability or deep experience navigating multicultural teams across EMEA markets.
