Engineering Manager - Cost Intelligence
Leads the Cost Intelligence engineering team, setting technical strategy and delivering scalable backend systems, data pipelines, and APIs for cloud cost visibility and optimization. Responsibilities
- Lead and grow a team of software engineers, fostering technical excellence, ownership, and continuous learning.
- Drive the roadmap for Cost Intelligence features, including cost allocation, resource budgeting, anomaly detection, and optimization recommendations.
- Set technical strategy for backend systems, data pipelines, and APIs that provide cost and usage insights at massive scale.
- Own delivery from planning and scoping through design reviews, execution, launch, and iteration.
- Partner with Product Management, Design, Data Science, and cross-functional engineering teams to ensure integrations and customer success.
- Represent the team in broader technical discussions and contribute to engineering-wide initiatives and best practices.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in an engineering management role.
- Experience leading teams that build highly scalable, reliable, and low-latency systems.
- Strong foundation in distributed systems, data engineering, or cloud-native backend development.
- Experience building cost management, budgeting, billing, or FinOps tooling in a cloud environment.
- Experience with anomaly detection, time-series analysis, or ML-driven cost optimization products.
- Excellent communication skills, including communicating complex technical problems to executive audiences.
- Track record of hiring, growing, and retaining strong engineering talent.
- Strong hands-on skills and ability to engage deeply with complex system designs and implementations.
- BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
