Responsibilities
- Lead and manage one or more high-performing engineering teams of 9+ engineers and managers.
- Own end-to-end delivery and manage managers as well as individual contributors.
- Drive the design, development, implementation, and documentation of engineering solutions.
- Establish engineering best practices and operational excellence using product, engineering, and Scrum metrics.
- Collaborate with engineering teams, architects, Product Management, business stakeholders, and cross-functional partners on requirements, dependencies, priorities, and deliverables.
- Help define product roadmaps and identify technical risks and alternative solutions.
- Participate in hiring and build high-performing agile teams.
- Mentor and coach team members and support their professional growth.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience building products, focused on cloud-based, high-performance systems.
- 7+ years of experience leading and managing high-performance teams.
- Experience leading teams of 9+ engineers or managers with end-to-end delivery accountability.
- Excellent stakeholder and program management skills.
- Extensive experience building distributed systems and cloud services.
- Experience running cloud-distributed systems in production for at least 2–3 years.
- Strong hands-on development skills for prototyping technical solutions.
- Experience with scalable middle-tier services, REST APIs, integrations, non-functional requirements, object-oriented analysis and design, and common design patterns.
- Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database technologies.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodology.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, facilitation, consensus-building, influencing, and persuasion skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Java, Spring Boot, Golang, or Python experience.
- Knowledge of Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
- Experience with large-scale data platforms and data warehouses such as BigQuery or Redshift.
- Knowledge of unit testing frameworks such as JUnit, Spock, or Jest.
- Experience with CI/CD tools and environments including Git, Maven, Gradle, Jenkins, and GCP DevOps.
Compensation
- Annual salary range: $233,000–$280,000.
