About the job
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and grow a multidisciplinary team of mechanical, electrical, and systems engineers developing sensor assemblies and sensor-cleaning systems for autonomous vehicles.
- Own program delivery from concept through validation, launch, and fleet support.
- Set technical direction and review design decisions across mechanical packaging, electrical integration, and system architecture.
- Partner with sensor performance, perception, test, manufacturing, and quality teams on performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
- Manage scope, schedule, budget, and resourcing across concurrent projects.
- Drive cross-functional design reviews, DFMEA/PFMEA, and validation planning.
- Communicate program status, technical tradeoffs, and risks to engineering leadership.
- Recruit, develop, and retain engineering talent.
Requirements
- 8+ years of engineering experience in mechanical, electrical, or systems engineering, including sensor systems, sensor cleaning, exteriors, or closures.
- 3+ years of direct engineering management experience, including hiring, mentoring, and performance management.
- Experience leading cross-functional hardware programs from concept through production, including specification authoring, supplier selection, DFMEA, DV/PV testing, and manufacturing readiness.
- Technical fluency in mechanical design, CAD, tolerance stack-up, fluid/pneumatic systems, sensor interfaces, wiring/harness design, and controls.
- Experience managing program scope, budget, and schedule across multiple workstreams.
- Strong cross-functional communication and technical presentation skills.
