Project Manager, Software Operations

Responsibilities

Procedures and Rubrics

  • Turn vague or inconsistent QC procedures into clear, executable processes.
  • Close gaps between rubrics and real-world cases.
  • Maintain traceability for process changes and improvements.

Taxonomy and Categorization

  • Audit classification frameworks for defects, labeling outputs, and operational findings.
  • Resolve ambiguity and overlap so taxonomies reflect actual workflows.
  • Identify and correct taxonomy drift.

Embedded Observation

  • Learn tools, handoffs, edge cases, and undocumented workflow friction firsthand.
  • Identify skipped steps, inconsistent decisions, and mismatched rubrics.
  • Provide leadership with clear, actionable recommendations on a regular cadence.

Offshore Vendor Alignment

  • Keep offshore QC teams current on procedures, rubrics, and taxonomy.
  • Run calibration sessions to align written standards with their application.
  • Build relationships with vendor account managers to surface issues early.

Documentation

  • Own clear, current documentation that is usable across teams.
  • Roll out changes consistently to all affected teams.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in project management, operations, process design, or QA in a software or technology environment.
  • Experience improving procedures, rubrics, or classification frameworks.
  • Strong pattern recognition and communication skills.
  • Excellent written communication and documentation skills.
  • Familiarity with Notion, Confluence, Airtable, Jira, or similar tools.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience in robotics, autonomous vehicles, mapping, or visual software environments.
  • Familiarity with U.S. roadways and driving behavior.
  • Experience coordinating offshore or distributed contractor teams.
  • Background in taxonomy, ontology, or classification system design.
  • Experience running inter-rater reliability or calibration programs.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base pay range: $99,000–$149,300.
  • Eligible for an annual performance bonus, equity, and competitive benefits.
