Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end roadmap for Benchling's developer-facing products: REST APIs, MCPs, SDKs, API playground, code examples, and code recipes.
- Define primitives for agentic R&D workflows, get them built, and ensure developers can use them.
- Work cross-functionally with Solutions Engineering, Partnerships, and Customer Success to build platform foundation for partner ecosystem (Quilt, Calira, Code Ocean, Seqera).
- Own the developer experience end-to-end: docs, APIs, support.
- Establish feedback loops through interviews, support signals, and usage data to shape roadmap decisions.
Qualifications
Required:
- 3-5 years of product management experience, with hands-on ownership of API, SDK, or developer platform products.
- Technical fluency: read code, review API specs, credible conversations with engineers.
- Developer empathy: obsess over developer experience, AI-era tooling (MCPs, LLM-friendly APIs, agentic workflows).
- Familiarity with modern developer stack: APIs, SDKs, documentation, developer onboarding.
- Strong communicator: crisp requirements, clear presentations.
Nice to Have:
- Familiarity with life sciences or enterprise SaaS domain.
- Experience building developer communities, running beta programs, or developer relations.
- Prior experience at a company with platform business model or marketplace.
How We Work
Flexible hybrid work arrangement, prioritizing in-office collaboration. Expected on-site 3 days per week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday).
