DeepgramDeepgram

Staff Product Manager

Own and grow Deepgram's self-serve developer funnel as a founding PM, driving product-led growth through experiments, onboarding, console, and activation. Build systems from scratch, prototype, analyze data, and partner cross-functionally in an AI-native environment. Requires proven PLG ownership moving funnel metrics without sales involvement, strong technical building skills, and genuine AI fluency.

About the job

What You’ll Do

  • Own the growth of the self-serve funnel — the metrics, the experiments that move them, and the product changes behind them. Span may cover one part of the funnel or the whole, and can grow or narrow as the team evolves.
  • Own the product across the developer experience — onboarding, the console, and the activation path. Decide what ships and why; engineering builds it.
  • Build the complete system your area runs on from scratch: rhythms of business, data-driven optimization, and the experimentation platform. Build it yourself, in-house, or research and deploy the best tools.
  • Maintain a weekly rhythm of shipping and measuring: hypothesis, change, honest evaluation of results, and next bet. Avoid roadmaps of features shipped on faith.
  • Handle cross-team work: partner with developer relations on acquisition and shared platforms, marketing on search and answer-engine presence, sales and customer success on handoff, and the analyst on definitions and instrumentation.

You’ll Love This Role If You

  • Get energized by being early — building the practice, not inheriting it.
  • Have strong, evidence-backed opinions about product-led growth and are eager to be proven wrong by the data.
  • Build things yourself: prototype, write SQL, stand up landing pages, ship fixes without waiting for others.
  • Reason at the altitude of a developer making an integration choice, increasingly with an AI agent in the loop.
  • Are genuinely AI-native: work with these tools daily, know where they help or mislead, and apply them to your own problems.

It’s Important to Us That You Have

  • Product-led growth experience (mandatory): owned a self-serve funnel metric (activation, conversion, retention, or acquisition) and moved it in a product real users adopted without a salesperson.
  • Track record as an all-around excellent PM: set direction, decide under uncertainty, ship, and show outcomes.
  • Instinct and ability to build: technical enough to prototype, reason about engineering tradeoffs, and perform your own analysis.
  • Proven ability to stand up a complete system from scratch — business rhythms, reporting, optimization, experimentation platform — yourself, in-house, or by selecting the right tools.
  • Genuine AI fluency: built AI into your workflow beyond the first demo, verify outputs, and have a point of view on limitations.
  • Judgment to distrust a number before building on it; reflexively question if a metric is real or an artifact.
  • Clear communication with executives: lead with the decision, hold method in reserve, withstand pushback without caving or digging in.

It Would Be Great If You Had

  • Experience with a developer or API product, fluency in how developers adopt SDKs and APIs.
  • A view on how AI coding agents change discovery and integration, and what it means to have an agent as your user.
  • Computer-science or engineering background, or history of shipping your own side projects.
  • Experience with tools like Superset, Heap, GrowthBook.
  • Time in a company that ran both self-serve and enterprise motions, and understood how they feed each other.
