Responsibilities
Scientific & Technical Engagement
- Lead technical discovery of customers’ lab data landscapes, including instruments, data formats, informatics stacks, and data science ambitions.
- Design and present solution architectures for scientific use cases such as ADMET assays, FPLC/UPLC chromatography, bioassay data harmonization, and AI training datasets.
- Demonstrate software aligned with customers’ primary value levers.
- Own proof-of-concept and proof-of-value engagements with scientific data architects.
- Own RFP technical responses end to end.
- Explain bronze, silver, and gold medallion data architecture in scientific and business terms.
- Stay current on assay workflows, instrument vendors, SDMS, ELN, LIMS, analytical software integrations, and AI/ML use cases in drug discovery and development.
Commercial Ownership
- Prospect, qualify, and build territory pipeline.
- Identify and close expansion opportunities across labs, instruments, geographies, sites, and use cases.
- Manage the full sales cycle from discovery through contracting using modern sales methodologies such as MEDDIC, MEDDPIC, or Force Management.
- Maintain accurate pipeline forecasts and leadership visibility.
- Build relationships from individual contributors through executive sponsors.
- Partner with the Delivery Manager to ensure a smooth sales-to-delivery handoff.
Market & Thought Leadership
- Represent the company at industry conferences, seminars, and customer events.
- Contribute customer and market insights to product, marketing, and science teams.
- Help develop case studies, solution briefs, and demo narratives.
Requirements
- Advanced degree in life science, chemistry, or engineering preferred; equivalent practical experience considered.
- 7+ years of combined scientific, technical, and commercial experience in life sciences software, laboratory informatics, scientific data infrastructure, or adjacent domains.
- Direct experience in pharma, biotech, or CRO/CDMO environments.
- Experience leading technical sales cycles in enterprise SaaS or scientific software, including proof-of-concept design and execution and RFP ownership.
- Deep familiarity with laboratory workflows and scientific data.
- Fluency with file formats, instrument connectivity, data harmonization, and the path from raw data to AI-ready datasets.
- Experience with modern sales methodologies.
- Strong executive presence in technical architecture and business case discussions.
- Proficiency with CRM and digital sales tools.
- Ability to travel approximately 25% to client sites within the assigned region.
