Responsibilities
- Define and drive technical architecture and strategy for systems spanning multiple teams.
- Partner with engineering leaders, product leaders, and teams on complex, high-impact initiatives.
- Set technical direction and establish engineering best practices and standards.
- Mentor engineers across levels and develop technical leaders.
- Solve challenging technical problems spanning multiple systems or domains.
- Drive improvements in performance, scalability, and security.
- Own major cross-team initiatives from ideation through long-term operational health.
- Evaluate and introduce tools, frameworks, and practices that improve engineering effectiveness.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, including at least 3 years driving technical architecture or strategy across multiple teams.
- Deep expertise with Java, Spring Boot, MongoDB, and Elasticsearch, including high-scale distributed data systems.
- Experience designing scalable RESTful APIs and backend architecture.
- Expert proficiency with JavaScript, React, and modern frontend frameworks.
- Experience with state management and frontend performance optimization at scale.
- Strong command of ES2015+, TypeScript, Webpack, Jest, Tailwind, and test-driven development.
- Understanding of browser rendering behavior, performance tuning, and accessibility.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, cloud environments, and DevOps workflows.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional influence, including with senior stakeholders.
- Work must be performed within the United States by U.S. citizens authorized to work in the U.S.
