Product Design - Tools

Design tools and human-machine interfaces for fleet, mission control, vehicle management, OTA updates, and vehicle OS systems. The role requires 5–7 years of product, tools, or interaction design experience, strong visual and interaction design skills, and the ability to lead ambiguous projects independently.

About the job

Responsibilities

  • Lead design across fleet management, mission control systems, OTA update flows, vehicle management software, and internal “workbench” vehicle OS tooling.
  • Move fluidly between defense and commercial/trucking use cases, treating them as related design problems.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers and engineers to create and validate design solutions across tools and vehicle interfaces.
  • Ship new features quickly in fast release cycles.
  • Take significant ownership and autonomy in shaping the design direction of a strategically important project.

Requirements

  • 5–7 years of experience in product, tools, or interaction design across enterprise, commercial, or consumer-facing products.
  • Strong visual and interaction design skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and comfort taking ownership of ambiguous problems with minimal oversight.

Nice to Have

  • Background in game design or interactive/real-time systems.
  • Experience at defense, space, or robotics companies.
  • Experience at AI or agentic companies.
  • Experience building 0-to-1 tools or internal software platforms.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base salary range: $170,000–$200,000.
  • Compensation may also include equity in the form of options and/or restricted stock units.
