Responsibilities
- Design, code, deploy, and operate high-performance data-processing systems and backend services on the JVM, primarily using Scala.
- Build systems for phone-call processing pipelines and customer-facing web applications.
- Work across the stack, from AWS cloud infrastructure and data storage through stream processing and Scala/Typelevel components.
- Own team-developed systems end to end, including deployment, operations, and applicable on-call rotations.
- Collaborate with local and remote team members in English and Hungarian.
- Understand customer needs and provide solutions based on them.
- Own design and architecture decisions end to end.
- Iterate continuously and improve systems and processes.
Requirements
- Experience or interest in functional programming in a typed setting.
- 2–3+ years of relevant professional experience.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field.
- Familiarity with data storage and processing systems such as PostgreSQL, Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon Redshift, and Apache Spark.
- Proficiency collaborating and communicating with local and remote team members in English and Hungarian.
- Desire to take ownership of design and architecture.
- Customer-focused approach and ability to work through ambiguity and tradeoffs.
