Hardware Engineering Manager
Leads the hardware function for shipping access-control products and two new connected-device product lines, from concept through mass production. Requires 5+ years of production mechanical or electrical engineering experience, direct contract-manufacturer ownership, certification expertise, and engineering team leadership.

Responsibilities
- Own the shipping access-control hardware line, including quality, field performance, change control, and ongoing cost.
- Lead two new hardware product lines end to end: concept, design, EVT through PVT, certification, ramp, and mass production.
- Manage the contract manufacturer relationship, including the design transfer package.
- Perform hands-on mechanical or electrical engineering, including CAD and drawings or schematics and board bring-up.
- Establish and operate stage gates, quality systems, supplier qualification, and test protocols.
- Hire and grow the hardware engineering team.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of production mechanical or electrical engineering experience.
- Personally shipped a product through an external contract manufacturer at volume.
- Directly owned a factory or contract manufacturing relationship.
- Owned a complete design transfer package, including CAD, BOM, assembly instructions, test procedures, quality criteria, and drawings.
- Taken products through certification, including FCC; CE and UL experience is relevant.
- Experience shipping quickly under constraints and managing schedule tradeoffs.
- Built and maintained quality systems, stage gates, change control, or supplier qualification processes.
- Experience growing engineers and developing team members.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with low-voltage connected devices such as drones, wearables, body cameras, security cameras, or smart-home products.
- Ownership of an entire product rather than a single component.
- Platform design engineering experience.
- Edge computing, imaging sensors, or DSP experience.
