Responsibilities
- Lead and grow an engineering team shipping new product lines from zero to commercial launch.
- Establish engineering culture through clear expectations, 1:1s, feedback, and career development.
- Translate unvalidated market hypotheses into technical architectures that can be built and tested quickly.
- Make pragmatic build-versus-buy and scope decisions to test products efficiently.
- Own technical execution from pilot through commercial launch, including transition to durable, supportable systems.
- Improve reliability, observability, and engineering efficiency as products scale.
- Hire and develop engineers and future engineering leaders.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, including 1+ year in engineering leadership.
- Experience shipping a 0-to-1 product or system in a startup or high-growth environment, ideally through commercial launch.
- Strong system design and architecture fundamentals.
- Ability to lead through ambiguity and turn incomplete specifications into structured execution.
- Strong communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- High standards for engineering quality, reliability, and performance under compressed timelines.
- Deep technical fluency, including code review, architecture, and technical tradeoffs.
Nice to Have
- Founding engineer or early-stage startup experience.
- Experience building a first product with minimal process scaffolding.
- Exposure to regulated environments such as construction, logistics, or government systems.
