Responsibilities
- Lead full-cycle monthly and quarterly close for current and future international entities under local and US GAAP.
- Guide accounts payable and accounts receivable teams; manage payroll accounting and intercompany transactions.
- Own statutory compliance, including financial statement preparation, TDS/TCS returns, audits, and corporate secretarial compliance.
- Partner with the US-based Controller and CAO on global close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.
- Partner with the SOX leader to design, implement, and evolve SOX-aligned controls and internal accounting policies.
- Improve close processes, identify automation and AI opportunities, simplify workflows, and build scalable finance infrastructure.
- Own audit relationships for international entities and coordinate materials and auditor responses.
- Collaborate with Legal, HR, FP&A, and Revenue Operations on accounting implications of new initiatives.
- Mentor and develop junior accounting staff.
- Support US GAAP accounting for US-based entities as needed.
- Support pre- and post-merger and acquisition activities, including due diligence, entity integration, compliance, and data migration.
- Lead accounting setup and operationalization of new entities in different countries.
- Monitor changes in local GAAP, tax, regulatory, and corporate compliance requirements.
- Support cash, banking, treasury, and foreign exchange accounting, including bank reconciliations, revaluations, realized and unrealized FX, and cash reporting.
Requirements
- 12+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 5+ years managing a team.
- Chartered Accountant (CA) designation required; CPA or equivalent international qualification is a plus.
- Deep expertise in technical accounting, IFRS, US GAAP, local GAAP, statutory accounting, tax regulations, and regulatory reporting across multiple jurisdictions.
- Hands-on ERP experience; NetSuite strongly preferred.
- Experience managing or supporting Big Four or top-tier audits.
- Experience at a high-growth technology or SaaS company with multi-entity, international accounting structures.
- Experience using AI, automation, and systems to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across remote, cross-functional, and cross-cultural teams.
- Ability to work independently in an async-first, evolving environment with hands-on ownership.
Compensation and Benefits
- Fully remote role from a home office in India, with regular overlap hours with the US team.
