Senior/Staff Backend Engineer - Java
Build and operate scalable, low-latency Java backend services for an AI risk decisioning SaaS platform. The role requires 5+ years of backend experience, AWS expertise, distributed-systems knowledge, and experience with microservices and deployment tooling.

Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable, high-performance, low-latency backend services using Java and AWS technologies.
- Collaborate with product management, frontend, and QA teams to define technical requirements and ensure smooth platform integration.
- Optimize existing services for performance, reliability, and maintainability.
- Identify and resolve system bottlenecks, ensuring efficient resource utilization and stability.
- Implement best practices for code quality, testing, and deployment, including CI/CD pipelines.
- Monitor backend service health and performance and mitigate potential issues.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of backend software development experience focused on Java and AWS technologies.
- Experience building and operating low-latency, high-scale services in distributed environments.
- Proficiency in Java and its ecosystem and related frameworks.
- Knowledge of microservices architecture, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, and ClickHouse.
- Familiarity with RESTful API design and security best practices.
- Experience with Jenkins, Git, Maven, Gradle, CI/CD, and agile development methodologies.
- Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, communication, and independent collaboration skills.
