Responsibilities
- Lead, grow, and mentor a globally distributed team of database internals engineers
- Own hiring, performance management, career development, and team health
- Own team execution and set the technical roadmap with Product, owning prioritization, balancing speed, quality, and long-term maintainability
- Partner closely with the Platform Engineering team and other engineering leaders to build a world-class experience for customers on Tiger Cloud
- Engage with high-value customers on escalations and elevated technical needs, translating their experiences into priorities for the team
- Set a high bar and help the broader engineering organization succeed
Requirements
- 8+ years of engineering experience, including a minimum of 4+ years managing engineers or engineering teams
- Track record of building and leading high-performing teams that ship industrial-strength systems software
- Strong technical depth in distributed systems or databases
- Experience with C/C++ on large code bases is highly desirable
- Solid knowledge of SQL, query processing and database engines, concurrency control, data replication, and/or distributed systems
- Passion for building highly reliable system software and for developing the people who build it

- Hands-on expertise in C and PostgreSQL internals
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL internals
