About the role

What You’ll Be Working On

Construction Strategy & Vision

  • Build and execute the comprehensive OSP/ISP strategy to support Crusoe’s rapid data center expansion, aligning project priorities with long-term capacity and infrastructure goals.

Full-Lifecycle Project Oversight

  • Direct the entire project lifecycle—from initial route design and permitting to physical construction and final turnover—ensuring all fiber deployments meet rigorous performance standards.

Vendor & Contractor Management

  • Lead the selection, RFP process, and negotiation for construction partners and ISPs, holding all vendors strictly accountable for safety, cost, and schedule adherence.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Partner with Network Engineering, GIS, and Data Center teams to ensure accurate designs, seamless system integration, and high-fidelity documentation across all builds.

Capital & Budget Accountability

  • Own multi-million dollar construction budgets, forecasting expenditures and monitoring cost-to-completion to ensure every project meets its ROI and performance targets.

Technical Infrastructure Standards

  • Direct the installation of conduit, structured cabling, and fiber systems, maintaining a deep working knowledge of DWDM, IP transport, and emerging network technologies.

Safety & Compliance Advocacy

  • Cultivate a "safety-first" field culture by implementing OSHA protocols, conducting rigorous site audits, and ensuring 100% compliance with local and federal construction codes.

Risk & Milestone Tracking

  • Proactively mitigate construction risks and manage change orders to ensure the on-time delivery of mission-critical network paths across diverse geographic regions.

What You’ll Bring to the Team

  • Telecom Leadership Mastery: 10+ years of experience leading telecommunications infrastructure or OSP/ISP construction at a Director or senior management level.
  • Network Build Expertise: Proven track record of building complex fiber networks, conduit systems, and aerial/underground routes specifically for data center environments.
  • Regulatory & Permitting Fluency: Extensive background navigating the complexities of working with municipalities, public utilities, and regional permitting agencies.
  • Advanced Technical Literacy: Comprehensive understanding of OSP/ISP standards, fiber optic systems, and high-level network architecture.
  • Construction Systems Proficiency: Expert-level experience with GIS, CAD, and project management tools such as MS Project or Primavera P6.
  • Strategic Financial Acumen: Demonstrated ability to manage massive capital budgets, forecast expenditures, and drive cost-efficiency in heavy industrial construction.
  • Mandatory Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field.

Bonus Points:

  • Advanced Professional Certifications: Holding a PMP (Project Management Professional) or RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer) certification.
  • Safety & Technical Credentials: Possession of an OSHA 30 certification or specialized FOA fiber certifications.
  • Hyperscale Experience: Prior experience leading network construction for major cloud service providers or hyperscale data center operators.
  • Sustainable Infrastructure Interest: A passion for integrating sustainable practices into traditional construction and telecommunications workflows.

Compensation

Compensation will be paid in the range of $175,000 - $210,000 base salary + Bonus. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers. Compensation to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
