Responsibilities
- Build Harvey across web, desktop, mobile, embedded experiences in Google Docs, Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Slack, and APIs.
- Lead high-priority engineering projects spanning multiple teams and product lines.
- Define technical strategy, prioritize business-critical problems, and make major architectural tradeoffs.
- Build AI-platform and AI-native capabilities, including agent harnesses, custom agents and workflows, tool calling, retrieval, memory and context management, personalization, threading, and evaluations.
- Develop scalable retrieval and ingestion systems for large document corpora, data collection across jurisdictions, and highly secure applications.
- Ship across the stack using React, TypeScript, Python, and Postgres, including intuitive user experiences and robust APIs for streaming results, long-running processes, and tool-calling workflows.
- Mentor senior and staff engineers and raise engineering standards across the organization.
Requirements
- 10+ years of post-bachelor's/master's professional experience in product-focused software engineering.
- Experience operating at Staff level or above.
- Depth in full-stack, backend, or agents/AI engineering, with sufficient breadth to contribute beyond a primary specialty.
- Experience building scalable, extensible systems supporting multiple product lines.
- Track record of shipping intuitive products in fast-growing SaaS companies.
- Experience with React, TypeScript, CSS, Tailwind CSS, Python, or related technologies.
- For agents/AI-focused work, proficiency in Python and hands-on experience shipping agentic systems, including agent harnesses or loops, tool use, memory, and evaluations.
- Strong programming skills and general computer science knowledge.
- Experience influencing and aligning engineers and leaders outside a direct reporting scope.
- Willingness to use AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex effectively.

Compensation
- $231,000–$340,000 USD annually.
