Senior Technical Product & Program Manager, Platform Engineering

Responsibilities
- Partner with SRE Infra Enablement, Developer Experience, Security, and API & Auth Platform leaders to understand strategies, constraints, dependencies, and investment choices.
- Facilitate roadmap processes that turn technical opportunities, operational pain points, and partner needs into clear priorities and sequenced investments.
- Clarify problems, define desired outcomes, evaluate options, and document decisions and tradeoffs with engineering leaders and senior technical staff.
- Track roadmap commitments and platform outcomes, surfacing risks, dependencies, and decisions early.
- Help teams make explicit capacity tradeoffs and define required partner support and adoption.
- Partner with product engineering teams to address adoption barriers and ensure platform capabilities are usable, documented, and supported.
- Define and track measures related to reliability, security posture, developer experience, adoption, delivery efficiency, operational burden, and service performance.
- Coordinate cross-team initiatives involving migrations, standards, shared services, and engineering workflow changes.
- Prepare concise updates and decision documents for platform leadership.
Requirements
- Strong experience shaping and executing roadmaps for backend platforms, infrastructure, developer tooling, SRE, security, APIs, authentication, or related technical domains.
- Experience leading complex, cross-team programs through influence, adoption, and sustained partnership rather than direct authority.
- Technical depth in backend architecture, operational tradeoffs, reliability, security, developer workflows, or platform APIs.
- Ability to turn ambiguous technical problems into clear decisions, priorities, milestones, and measurable outcomes.
- Experience balancing near-term delivery with long-term platform health, including standards, migrations, deprecations, reliability improvements, and operational readiness.
- Strong prioritization judgment for shared platform investments with competing stakeholder needs.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication, including explaining technical tradeoffs to engineers and senior leaders.
- Collaborative, low-ego working style and willingness to understand technical problems deeply.
- Data-informed decision-making using metrics related to reliability, security, adoption, developer experience, and efficiency.
Compensation & Benefits
- New York City base salary: $125,000-$145,000.
- May be eligible for a company incentive bonus.
