Responsibilities

  • Create electrical design deliverables for custom power and control products, including one-line diagrams, control schematics, submittal packages, and bills of materials.
  • Review vendor bid packages and submittals for technical accuracy.
  • Confirm the accuracy of project materials quoted to customers.
  • Perform branch-circuit and feeder calculations for power-distribution equipment.
  • Specify and size electrical components.
  • Evaluate manufacturing processes and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Production, Procurement, Project Management, and Sales teams on continuous improvement.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with production personnel, electrical technicians, and control-panel builders.
  • Inspect work quality for flaws and mistakes and manage multiple projects independently.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • At least 7 years of experience in a manufacturing, construction, or project environment.
  • Solid knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Experience designing, building, and maintaining low-voltage power-distribution systems rated at 600 volts or below.
  • Ability to perform load calculations for machine and control panels in accordance with NEC and UL 508A.
  • Experience with computer-aided design, specifically ACADE, for documenting electrical schematics and power-distribution systems.
  • Knowledge of machine-engineering principles and production-equipment construction.
  • Proficiency with office software.
  • Experience using electrical test equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical diagrams.
  • This is a safety-sensitive position requiring participation in a drug and alcohol program.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience with QA/QC, Factory Acceptance Testing, and technical documentation.
  • Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), motion control, human-machine interfaces, and instrumentation.
