Responsibilities
Architect complex, high-performance robotic and electromechanical systems from concept through high-volume production, ensuring micron-level accuracy.
Design and develop control software packages for robotic and controls equipment.
Architect and implement HMI and SCADA strategies for real-time production monitoring, operator interfaces, and repeatable process control.
Build and test machines hands-on, including wiring control cabinets and integrating sensors and actuators.
Collaborate across mechanical, electrical, software, manufacturing, operations, and quality teams to apply Design for Automation principles.
Own the project lifecycle, including functional requirement specifications, automation equipment providers, and Factory/Site Acceptance Testing.
Requirements
6+ years of experience in high-volume precision manufacturing, automation, or robotics, focused on system architecture and hardware/software integration.
Experience owning multiple full-lifecycle programs from concept through production deployment.
B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related engineering discipline.
Substantial experience with PLC programming and SCADA, including platforms such as Ignition, Allen-Bradley, or Siemens.
Proficiency in robot programming and offline simulation with systems such as FANUC, ABB, or KUKA.
Strong C++ or Python programming skills and understanding of robotic kinematics, motion control, and simulation.
Expertise in hardware/software interfaces such as EtherCAT, Profinet, or CANopen, and sensor integration.
Designs and integrates electrical systems for custom power and control products, creates schematics and BOMs, performs calculations, and improves manufacturing processes. Requires Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, 7+ years experience, NEC knowledge, and ACADE proficiency.
