About the role

What you'll be working on

  • Designing, testing, and validating electrical systems including power distribution, control circuits, and signal conditioning for our robotic factory
  • Selecting and integrating motors, sensors, actuators, PLCs, and other electrical/electronic components to meet system requirements for reliability and performance
  • Creating electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and harness designs while establishing standards for electrical documentation and best practices
  • Troubleshooting electrical issues in factory and field deployments, working closely with mechanical and software teams to ensure seamless system integration
  • Scaling electrical systems from design to manufacturing and deployment

Requirements

  • Strong experience in electrical engineering with hands-on skills in power systems, control systems, and industrial automation
  • Ability to read and create electrical schematics, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams
  • Proficient with CAD tools for electrical design
  • Experience specifying and integrating electrical components (motors, drives, sensors, relays, PLCs)
  • Understanding of electrical codes and safety standards
  • Experience in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Based in or able to relocate to the SF Bay Area, and able to work 4-5 days/week from our San Leandro HQ

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with high-power electrical systems, motion control, or industrial robotics
  • 4-year degree in electrical engineering or a related field
  • Familiar with Python or other programming languages for testing and automation
