About the role

Responsibilities

  • Guide strategic customers through the full lifecycle of Databricks on Azure platform administration, from architectural design through production deployment.
  • Architect secure, scalable enterprise deployments addressing complex Azure networking, identity, and security compliance requirements.
  • Advise customers on Microsoft Azure infrastructure, infrastructure-as-code, cloud networking, and identity management.
  • Support Solutions Architects during complex technical sales cycles by building custom proof-of-concept architectures and Azure technical content.
  • Deliver tutorials, conduct hackathons, speak at conferences, and contribute to the Databricks open-source community.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in a technical role with deep expertise in Microsoft Azure, including cloud security, networking best practices, and enterprise data platform design.
  • 2+ years of professional experience with distributed architectures and big data technologies.
  • 2+ years of experience in a customer-facing technical role, such as pre-sales, post-sales, or consulting.
  • Deep expertise in at least one of the following domains:
    • Security and identity: Azure security controls, platform/network/data security, encryption, vulnerability management, compliance, Microsoft Entra ID, SCIM, OAuth, SAML, and federation.
    • Networking and deployments: Azure enterprise networking, VNet peering, ExpressRoute, Private Link, network routing, performance optimization, and large-scale deployment management.
    • Platform administration: High availability, disaster recovery, cluster orchestration, observability, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Azure cost management.
    • Infrastructure automation: Infrastructure-as-code using Terraform, Bicep, or ARM to build, maintain, and scale Azure environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Python, Java, or Scala, plus strong SQL proficiency.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent practical work experience.
  • Ability to meet role-specific training and technical delivery milestones within the first six months.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% as needed.

  • Microsoft Azure certifications, such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure Data Engineer.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Local pay range: $180,000–$247,500 USD.
  • Total compensation may include an annual performance bonus, equity, and benefits.
