Forward Deployed Engineer

Responsibilities

• Work directly in customer environments to understand their use cases and make Firecrawl work with real-world data.
• Build integrations and proof-of-concepts that turn uncertain evaluations into production deployments.
• Run technical discovery to diagnose extraction and pipeline issues, distinguishing usage problems, bugs, and product gaps.
• Partner with the revenue team to drive adoption, expansion, and team targets.
• Serve as the trusted technical voice for customer accounts and relay field learnings to product and engineering.
• Decide when to solve problems independently and when to involve engineering.

Requirements

• Experience in forward-deployed, solutions, or customer-facing engineering, ideally with a developer, API, or AI infrastructure product.
• Ability to read code, use APIs, and build production-oriented proofs of concept or integrations.
• Experience owning the customer lifecycle from demonstration through proof of concept to production.
• Ability to distinguish user error, product bugs, and genuine product gaps before building solutions.
• Ability to translate technical details into business value for different audiences.
• Ability to move quickly and close the loop with working solutions.
• At least 3 years of experience in a customer-facing technical role or equivalent.

Compensation & Benefits

• Annual OTE salary of $180,000 to $240,000.
